How to use this map

This is a living map of every institution of the Union government of India — from the electorate at the top to the ministries, courts and constitutional bodies. Here's how to explore it.

Every cell is an institution. Larger cells are ministries and big bodies; the smaller cells packed around them are their departments, attached offices, public-sector enterprises and statutory bodies.
The blocks read top to bottom: The People, Parliament, the Union Government (executive), the Judiciary, the Independent / Constitutional bodies, and the States & Union Territories.
Hover a cell for its name; click for the full card — what it does, who heads it, how it's chosen, and the live diagram of its connections.
Recolour the grid with the mode buttons — Branch, Type, Function or Party — to see the Union through different lenses.
Filter or Highlight. Type in the search box or tap a colour in the legend. Filter brings just the matches into one clean grid; Highlight keeps the map and dims the rest.
Follow the connections. Each card shows how that body links to others — who funds, controls, oversees or elects it. Click any link to jump there.
